According to official figures from State Fiscal Service of Ukraine in 2016, 44.1 KMT of flax seeds was shipped to foreign markets from Ukraine. Income on the basis of exports amounted to $15.3 million in the last year.
Exports volume, both in natural and in value terms, have been showing growth over the past few years. At the same time, the highest rates were observed during 2011-2016. It was recorded according to the result of 2012, when export markets received 44.96 KMT of flax seeds of Ukrainian origin.

According to ProAgro, Vietnam and Poland are among the main importers of flax seeds from Ukraine. During September-December of MY 2016/17 (September-August), almost 68% of the shipments were carried to the above-mentioned countries from Ukraine (53.5% and 14.3%, respectively). The weighted average price of flax seeds of Ukrainian origin for the same period amounted to $322.2/t. according to all export indexes.
