Sunflower seeds stocks increased by 45% in comparison with last year”s level

As of 1st of February, stocks of major oilseeds at specialized depots equaled to 3 505,4 KMT. According to ProAgro, at the beginning of this month, stocks of sunflower seeds were 2 602,1 KMT, which is 44.9% more than on the February the 1st, 2016. The observed increase in stock volumes of sunflower and related products could be explained by record levels of production in 2016.

The largest oilseeds stocks were available for processors and elevators of such regions: Kharkov region (275.5 KMT), Dnipropetrovsk region (264.6 KMT) and Vinnitsa region (257.3 KMT), where the main processing facilities being located and large areas of crops is available. In Lviv region oilseeds stocks accounted for a little less than 4 KMT, however Chernivtsi, Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions had no stocks at all.

By the reporting date, processing and storage operators possessed 815.4 KMT of soy, which is 71.1% more than a year before. Most of the soy volume (93.2 KMT) has been stored in depots in Khmelnitsky region. At the same time in Luhansk, Donetsk, Transcarpathian and Ivano-Frankivsk regions there were no stocks at all.

Stocks of canola equaled to 87.9 KMT, which is 24.8% less than on the same date last year (1st February). This reduction is associated with a decrease in the gross production of oilseeds in the current season. The largest volumes of oilseeds were disposed in Odessa and Ternopil region – 39.6 KMT and 17.9 KMT, respectively. However, in the Donetsk, Zakarpatia, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Luhansk, Kharkiv and Chernivtsi regions there were no stocks of oilseeds at all.
