Due to favorable weather conditions in Ukraine, spring sowing campaign has already started – process of soil fertilizing has started in 10 regions.
It has been reported by the press service of Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
According to the report, as of 27 of February, 579 ha of the land have been fertilized for winter crops (8% of planned) and 96 thousand ha for winter rape (11% of planned).
It is noted that the most area has been fertilized in such regions: Odessa – 241 thousand ha (32%), Nikolaev – 111 thousand ha (19%), Kherson – 103 thousand ha (19%) and Zaporozhye – 69 thousand ha (10%).
It has been also reported that, as of the reporting date, shoots of winter crops have been germinated on the area of 6.8 million ha (95% of the sown area). Particularly, observations of 5.5 million ha have shown that shoots have been in good shape (81%) and shoots on area of 1.3 million ha (19%) have shown signs of weakening.
Shoots of winter rape have been sprouted on the area of 860 thousand ha (96% of the sown), including in good and satisfactory condition – 689 thousand ha (81%) and 170 thousand ha (19.8%) in weakened state.
