Rating of the largest Ukrainian exporters of dairy products in the Q1 2017

In January-March 2017, the export of dairy products from Ukraine amounted to 25.7 KMT, which is 37% more than in the Q1 2016

It has been reported by ProAgro with reference to the analytical department of the Council for Food Export.

According to the report, milk and cream concluded the major export part with 10.2 KMT (9% more than in the same period a year earlier). At the same time, the export of whey showed a significant positive trend – in this period, overseas shipments doubled to almost 8 KMT from 4 KMT of the last year. Exporters of butter in the Q1 2017 increased sales abroad by 3 times – up to 3,5 KMT. The export of cheeses also increased, reaching 1.5 KMT against 1.4 in January-March 2016.

At the same time, supplies of uncondensed cream and milk decreased (by 8%, up to 1.9 KMT) as well as butter, yogurt and kefir (by 34%, up to 588 tons).

It is noted that the largest share in the export of cheese belongs to the companies Laktalis-Ukraine (18%), KOMO-Export (18%), Bell Shostka Ukraine (14%), Milkiland Intermarket (10%) and Club Cheese (9%).

The main exporters of dried milk in the Q1 were Roshen (34%), Belotserkovsky agro-industrial group (13%), Kupyansky Milk Factory (10%), Starokonstantinovsky Milk Factory (9%) and Milkiland Intermarket (8%).

In the butter segment, the leading exporters in the period were Roshen (17%), Domenik (10%), Starokonstantinovsky Milk Factory (9%), IP-Agrotorg (9%) and Adamas (8%).
