As of April 12 corn was sown on 3.9 million ha or 86% of the planned 4.5 million ha.
Planting of spring grain and legumes was conducted on the area of 6.3 million ha or 88% of the projected 7.2 million ha including early spring grain and leguminous crops, which were sown on an area of 2.3 million ha or 98% of the forecast (2.4 million ha):
- spring wheat planted 171 thousand ha or 96% of the forecast (164 thousand ha);
- spring barley - 1.56 million ha or 95% of the forecast (1.64 million ha);
- oats - 197 thousand ha or 95% of the forecast (207 thousand ha);
- peas - 380 thousand ha or 115% of the forecast (330 thousand ha).
Buckwheat planted on 52 thousand ha or 36% of the forecast (145 thousand ha).
Millet was planted on 27 thousand ha or 33% of the forecast (81 thousand ha).
In addition, sugar beets were planted on 307 thousand ha or 105% of the forecast (293 thousand ha).
Sunflower was sown on an area of 4.6 million ha or 85% (5.4 million ha).
Sowing of soybean was held on an area of 1.3 million ha or 69% of the forecast (1.9 million ha).
