According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, in January-September 2021, exports of agro products totaled $18.2 billion. According to Bogdan Dukhnitsky, senior researcher of the Institute of Agrarian Economics, that is $2.6 billion or almost 17% more than in 9 months of 2020, reports ProAgro Group.
According to him, the defining positions in the commodity structure of domestic agro-food exports are grains and oilseeds, oil, residues and wastes, as well as meat products. Their cumulative share is more than 85% in the agrarian export.
The main markets remain in four regions – Asian, European Union, African and CIS countries. In total, they account for more than 97% of the value of Ukrainian agricultural exports. And in 2021 there will be an increase of domestic agro-food exports to all these geographical regions, said Bohdan Dukhnitsky.
The position of the main importer of domestic agricultural products is traditionally held by Asian countries, which in January-September 2021 bought Ukrainian food for $9016 million, the expert said. The share of Asia during this period amounted to about 50% of the total export of agricultural products.
