In early December, in one of the pig farms in the Bashtanka district of the Mykolaiv region, the death of 8 heads of pigs (7 heads of piglets aged 4-8 months and 1 head of a sow over 2 years old) was recorded.
In the study of the selected samples, the diagnosis was African swine fever (ASF), reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
Currently, an action plan for the elimination of the dangerous disease focus has been approved in the region, the boundaries of the epizootic focus, protection and surveillance zones, which include the villages of Chervonyi Yar, Vesele and Kavkaz of Bashtanka district, have been determined. Starting from December 5, quarantine has been introduced there.
