Grain transportation by rail continues despite missile strikes and power outages. During the first 7 days of December 570 thousand tons of grain were loaded.

This was discussed during yesterday’s meeting of railway workers with representatives of the grain transportation market, ProAgro Group reports with reference to Rail.insider.

The share of grain in the total load since the beginning of the month amounted to 28.3%. The average daily load was 81 thousand tons.

“Unfortunately, for the first week of December there is a slight subsidence of the load due to the fact that on December 5 there was a blow to the power system. Because the enterprises and the railway had problems with electricity on December 5 and 6… There is a capacity limitation provided to the railway and enterprises. Because of this, there are problems with loading and unloading,” said Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia”.

At the same time, he added that the situation is gradually stabilizing and, for example, on December 7, 100 thousand tons of grain were loaded.
