During January-October 2021, Ukraine exported 738.5 tons of snails – 22.2 times more than during the same period in 2020.
This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, reports ProAgro Group, referring to AgroTimes.
In monetary terms, the export of snails reached $2.3 million – 33.4 times more than in 10 months of 2020.
The lion’s share of Ukrainian snails in January-October this year was bought by Lithuania ($2.1 million). Also among the top three buyers were Slovakia ($114.3 thousand) and Georgia ($48.8 thousand).
At the same time, imports of snails to Ukraine actually did not happen – less than 15 kg during 10 months of this year.
Last year, due to the pandemic, Ukrainian producers were forced to reduce exports of snails tenfold.
