This week the southern regions began to gather a new harvest of crops. This is reported by the ProAgro Group with reference to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy.
The first ones to reap the summer harvest in Ukraine are the agrarians from Odesa region. Winter barley harvesting has also started in Izmail region. The first threshing operations on the area of 7 thousand hectares have yielded 14.7 thousand tons of the new crop.
In general, 1 061 thousand hectares of winter crops are to be harvested this year in Odesa region. In particular, 551 thousand hectares of winter wheat, 244 thousand hectares of winter barley, 50 thousand hectares of spring barley and 190 thousand hectares of rape.
For comparison, last year at this time the harvest has not yet begun.
