Harvesting of early crops has started in Luhansk region. According to the forecasts of farmers who remained to work in the occupation, the harvest in the farms of Starobilsk and Svatove districts should be within the range of last year.

“Despite the hostilities, our task-get the harvest, which was sown last year. Most likely, we will have to give two-thirds of it to the “republic” and the rest will go to our needs. We will sow, buy diesel fuel, pay salaries to workers. It is not known how this year we will be with the payment for the lease of shares, because our agricultural companies are actually collective farms, and their land belongs to the “republic”. Local colleagues lost the desire to make any protests back in spring, when we were told “either you work with us, or we will put others in your place. Some of the dissenters were treated “differently” and had their homes shot in the evening. There was all sorts of things. Many of even the most patriotically-minded were “broken” that way,” said Yurii (name changed for safety reasons), deputy head of one of the agricultural enterprises in the northern Luhansk region.
According to him, the reaping campaign has already begun on his farm. Combineers work in the morning and late into the evening, when the dew is falling. Since the areas under crops are far away from the current territory of fighting and there has been no heavy fighting in these areas, it is relatively easy to reap the harvest.
“Although there was no fighting here, we still warn harvesters and drivers to be vigilant, careful and, if they find suspicious objects in the field or in the planting, to call,” Yurii noted.
The current harvest, harvested by farmers of occupied Luhansk region, is already being shipped to Russia, propaganda media reported.
