Ukrzaliznytsia is working on the expansion of bottlenecks on the western border. About this on his page on Facebook wrote a member of the supervisory board of the company Serhiy Leshchenko, reports “ProAgro Group”.
“I was on a multi-day tour of Ukrzaliznytsia, joining the infrastructure vertical headed by Roman Chernitsky. Railway workers are the iron cyborgs of UZ, who kept the company running even during the first days of the war, when everything around stopped. The vertical of “track workers” restores destroyed bridges in record time. They keep an eye on the state of the railroad track. And they launch traffic, bringing civilization back to places where no one had hoped for it anymore,” explained Serhiy Leshchenko.
Officials toured promising points on the western borders. The plans are to widen “narrow necks” where the European track of 1435 mm and the Ukrainian track of 1520 mm converge.
“And in the coming months we will have several surprises for Ukrainians. We do not announce them in advance. But the “track workers” are able to work wonders. So is the restoration of the track from Rakhiv to the Romanian border to Berlibashi, which will make it possible to connect this part of the Carpathians with Uzhgorod and give access to the Romanian railroad, “- said the official.
