“Grain initiative” continues: 5 more ships with food left the ports

On Sunday, October 2, within the framework of the implementation of the “grain initiative”, 5 vessels loaded with 114.7 thousand tons of agricultural products for the countries of Africa and Europe left the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdennyi. This is reported by “ProAgro Group” with reference to the post of the Ministry of Infrastructure on Facebook.

Among the vessels that departed yesterday are the bulk carrier ARGO 1, which carries 31 thousand tons of corn to Egypt, and the bulk carrier DOGA K with 10 thousand tons of wheat for Tunisia.

Also on October 2, the vessel NEW ISLAND arrived at the port of Chornomorsk for loading. This is the fifth vessel chartered by the UN World Food Program. After loading with wheat, the ship will go to Somalia.

The Ministry estimated that since the first ship with Ukrainian food exported 5.8 million tons of agricultural products. In total, 257 ships with food have left Ukrainian ports and were sent to Asia, Europe and Africa.
