It will take 40 months to export the crops that are now in Ukraine under the sea blockade, the director of the port in the city of Yuzhne Andriy Stavnitser said on the air of Radio NV.
As reports ProAgro Group with reference to LIGA.Business, according to mr. Stavnitser, even “if everything works like clockwork,” no more than 600-800 thousand tons of grain can be exported through the western borders by rail and overland transport for a month.
“The only option for sufficient exports is the sea, but today no port is working. “Ukrzaliznytsia” – big well done, but even if they jump over their heads, will not be able to take out through the western crossings as much grain as now lies in our country. Ukraine has 30 million tons of grain alone, I’m not talking about other resources: ore, kotuns, metal and the like. And that is all the billions of dollars of foreign exchange earnings that could come into Ukraine”, Stavnitser said.
As for the grain alone, we are talking about $15 billion, he said. Ukraine will not be able to store this grain for a long time either, because the country used to work “in turnover” and does not have enough storage facilities.
