Cherries in Ukraine are cheapening rapidly – growers have to reduce prices, they are already lower than they were a year ago.
This is reported by the “ProAgro Group” with reference to EastFruit.
The analysts say that the main reason for the decline in prices is the large supply, contrary to expectations.
“In addition, buyers are often dissatisfied with the quality of the products, which also has a negative impact on prices. In the current situation, large fruit-growing farms manage to ship cherries at the price not higher than 25-45 hryvnias per kilogram, which is 30% cheaper on the average than a week ago”, say experts of the market.
Another factor contributing to the decrease in prices is said to be the limited access to the sales markets. As is known, the main production of cherries is concentrated in Zaporizhzhya and Mykolayiv regions, which are now partially occupied and have almost no possibility to ship their products to other regions.
