During the first 10 months of 2021, 88,600 tons of dairy products were imported, 18% more than the same period last year. In money terms, imports rose by 22% to $297 million.
This is reported by ProAgro Group, citing the UCAB data.
Supply has increased for all positions of dairy products, except for butter.
“The growth of imports of milk and dairy products in Ukraine is primarily due to the rapid reduction of cows and increasing domestic prices of raw materials. According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, the tendency to reduce the number of animals is most of all observed in households, where as of October 1, there was a 7% reduction for the year”, – says Maxim Gopka, analyst of UCAB.
