Grain reserves in Ukraine as of February 1 totaled more than 26.6 million tons

Grain reserves in Ukraine as of February 1, 2022 amount to 26,648.4 thousand tons. During January, the reserves decreased by more than 4.7 million tons, but their volume was almost 8.5 million tons more than at the beginning of February 2021. ProAgro Group reports this, citing data from the State Statistics Service of Ukraine.

Reduction in total grain reserves was mainly due to corn due to its active export and domestic consumption: at the beginning of February the stock of this grain amounted to 16,488.1 thousand tons, 3.4 million tons less than at the beginning of the year, but 5 million tons more than on February 1, 2021.

Export and domestic consumption also reduced the stocks of other crops. Thus, the volume of wheat stocks on the reporting date amounted to 8,199.2 thousand tons – 982.5 thousand tons less than a month earlier, but 3 million tons more than a year ago.

Barley stocks also declined to 1,260,200 tons, which is 186,800 tons less than on January 1 this year, but 356,600 tons more than on February 1, 2021. Stocks of rye decreased to 157 thousand tons, down by 47 thousand tons for the month, which is also 8 thousand tons less than a year ago.
