ARMA serves suspicion notices to new suspects in case of embezzlement of land, fertilizers and grain

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office have identified new participants in the corruption scheme of illegal trade in seized property transferred to the management of the National Agency of Ukraine for finding, tracing and management of assets derived from corruption and other crimes (ARMA). It is reported by “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of NABU.

The total number of participants in the scheme has increased to seven people, including the former head and officials of ARMA.

They organized a scheme for the sale at a reduced cost of property seized and transferred to the management of ARMA. Currently, the following episodes of crime have been established:

  • sale of three land plots in Odesa region, which were sold 18 times cheaper than the market value;
  • sale of more than 4.5 thousand tons of urea – almost 5 times cheaper than market prices;
  • sale of grain, cereals and oilseeds – four times cheaper than the market value.

As a result of the sale of seized property at a reduced value, only in these four episodes damage was caused in excess of UAH 426 million. All these episodes took place during 2019.
