Export revenues of the agricultural sector grew by 17%

In 9 months of 2021, Ukraine received $17.7 billion in export revenues from the sale of products of agro-industrial sector, which is 17% higher than the same period last year.

At the same time, the share of the agro-industrial sector in total Ukrainian exports during this period totaled 36%, ProAgro Group reports, citing information from UCAB.

Three basic positions: sunflower oil – 24% ($4.3 billion), corn – 20% ($3.5 billion), and wheat – 18% ($3.1 billion) accounted for 62% of the generated revenues. These are the commodities that have grown significantly in value over the past year and have attracted large receipts. Next follows rapeseed, barley, oilcake from sunflower oil production, and poultry.

The main buyer countries of Ukrainian agricultural products were China, which accounted for 16% of exports from Ukraine totaling $2.9 billion, India – 8% ($1.4 billion) and the Netherlands – 7% ($1.2 billion).

Agro-industrial product shipments to the EU in January-September 2021 accounted for 30% of all export revenues.
