On October 9, the acceptance of applications, open for two weeks at the end of September, for grain storage sleeves was completed. In total, 1,494 applications were received from small and medium-sized agricultural producers for 30,120 sleeves for temporary storage of grain.
Due to the great interest from farmers, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) are launching the second stage of the competition for farmers who did not have time to submit their applications by October 9. To participate in the second stage, you need to apply until October 23 through the State Agrarian Register (SAR).
Under the terms of the program, farmers must have from 100 to 10 thousand hectares in official cultivation, and use the received sleeves to store their own products. In this case, their status – owner or tenant – is not important. As well as the legal status: applications from both legal entities and individual entrepreneurs are accepted. The key requirement is the cultivation of land in the territory controlled by Ukraine.
The process of selection and verification of applications in the first stage has already begun, and in the coming days, the participants of the program will receive confirmation of assistance from the State Agency for Agrarian Policy and the address of the warehouse for independent transportation of hoses to the territory of the agricultural enterprise.
The project is implemented by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and FAO with the financial support of Canada, Japan and the Minderoo Foundation for a total amount of $ 60.5 million. According to expectations, this assistance will provide 30% of the national need.
