According to the results of 2021, the net profit of agricultural, forestry and fisheries enterprises amounted to 238.8 billion UAH, 2.9 times higher than in 2020 at 81.1 billion UAH. This was reported by the director of the NSC “Institute of Agrarian Economics”, academician of NAAS Yurii Lupenko, ProAgro Group reports.
According to him, this is the highest figure in the history of the industry since Ukraine’s independence, which is 2.4 times higher than the previous record of 102.8 billion hryvnias, achieved in 2015.
Last year, the percentage of profitable enterprises was also the highest – 88.3% compared to 82.6% in 2020 and 88.4% in 2015. These are the best indicators among all types of economic activity, where in general there were 72.9% of profitable and 27.1% of unprofitable enterprises, the scientist noted.
The largest net income of the industry was brought by producers of cereals, legumes and oilseeds – UAH 224.9 billion (94.2%), Yurii Lupenko noted.
At the same time, the income of livestock farming amounted to only 9.5 billion hryvnias (4%), of which 6.7 billion hryvnias falls on the breeding of dairy cattle.
The activity of poultry breeding, which for two years in a row brought billions of hryvnias in losses – UAH 1.9 billion in 2019 and UAH 2.6 billion in 2020, turned out to be profitable in 2021 and brought a net income of UAH 799.2 million, Yurii Lupenko said.
