The Verkhovna Rada supported the return of excise taxes on fuel. The corresponding draft law No. 7668-d was voted for in the second reading and in general by 255 people’s deputies, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the message in the Telegram of MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
The law establishes excise duties on gasoline, diesel and biofuels in the amount of 100 euros per 1000 liters, on gas – 52 euros per 1000 liters. Also, as before, the fuel will be subject to VAT at 7%.
The zero excise rate will be valid only for the Ministry of Defense for the period of martial law and state of emergency, but no later than July 1, 2023.
Thus, the proposal of the European Solidarity faction to leave the zero excise tax on fuel also for agrarians was not taken into account in the draft law, and no MP from the faction voted for it.
The law comes into force the day after its publication, so the return of excise duties should be expected at the end of September.
