Today, 13 May, the Head of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine met with Victoria Prentice, Minister of State for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
At the meeting, the ministers discussed the problems of grain exports and the initiative of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to create the Organization of Grain Exporting Countries for Food Security in the World.
“We are considering the option of an organization of grain exporting countries with the participation of such countries as Ukraine, the European Union countries, the United States, Australia, Argentina, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Grain OPEC will coordinate the need and production capacity of grains and promote free trade”, – said Mykola Solskyy.
For her part, Victoria Prentice expressed her support for Ukraine and condemned the actions of Russian occupiers who are robbing Ukrainian farmers in eastern and southern Ukraine.
