Verkhovna Rada proposes to exempt from duty the import of grain storage equipment

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy recommended to approve on first reading and as a whole the bill to exempt from taxation of import duties on goods used for the storage of grain and/or oilseeds ( No. 7548-1). This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.

The purpose of the Bill is to exempt products and equipment for storage, transportation, loading and unloading of grain crops and/or oilseeds when imported into the customs territory of Ukraine from import duty.

This exemption will be effective during martial law on the territory of Ukraine and within 30 days after its termination or cancellation.

Previously, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine reported that before the outbreak of full-scale war Ukrainian farmers had about 75 million tons of storage capacity. Grain storage facilities for 10 million tons are located in the temporarily occupied territories, some of them were damaged or destroyed as a result of military operations. Therefore, a possible shortage of storage capacity for the harvest until the end of the year was estimated at 10 to 15 million tons.
