For the first time Chernihiv region crossed the six-million mark of the gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops. Compared to the previous year, the yield of grain crops is by 900 thousand tons more, said the head of Chernihiv Oblast State Administration Vyacheslav Chaus, reports ProAgro Group.
He noted that as of December 23, agrarians of Chernihiv region threshed 842 thousand hectares, which is 98% of the forecast. The level of grain yield this year amounted to 75 centners per hectare, which is 9 centners/hectare more than last year.
Also this year there was registered the largest threshing of wheat (more than 940 thousand tons) and corn (about 5,1 million tons) in the history of the region. There were also obtained record harvests of wheat and rye – 49 and 39 c/ha, respectively.
In addition, farmers harvested a record 740 thousand tons of sunflower at a yield of more than 30 c/ha.
