How the acreage of winter crops has changed over the past 10 years

Ukrainian agrarians sowed 8.869 million hectares of winter crops and rapeseed for the harvest of 2022, which is 654 thousand hectares less than a year earlier and 467 thousand hectares less than 10 years ago.

This is evidenced by the data of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine, reports ProAgro Group.

In particular, 7.331 million hectares of winter crops out of 7.839 million planned were sown for grain, and rape – 1.022 million hectares of 1.029 million planned.

Part of the winter crop area for the 2022 harvest was reduced due to adverse weather conditions: the lack of moisture in the fall prevented many farmers from completing the planned areas.
