According to operational information from the regions, 7.7 million hectares of winter crops have been sown for the harvest of 2022, which is 0.4 million hectares more than in 2021. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
In particular, there were sowed:
- winter wheat and triticale – 6.5 million hectares, which 0.4 million hectares more than in 2021;
- rye – 159 thousand hectares, 34 thousand hectares more than in 2021;
- barley – 1 million hectares, which is 45 thousand hectares more than in 2021
- winter rape – 1,02 million hectares, which is 143 thousand hectares more than in 2021.
According to NAAS, winter crops are now in the state of tillering and deep winter dormancy. The state of overwintering of winter crops is assessed as satisfactory, plant deaths were not observed.
According to data of bodies on conformity assessment in sphere of seed production, for yielding in 2022, agricultural enterprises prepared and certified more than 41 thousand tons of seeds, which makes up about 10% of total need and corresponds to level of past year. In particular, corn seeds – 21 thousand tons, sunflower – 5 thousand tons, soybean – 3.2 thousand tons, buckwheat – 250 tons.
