At present, there are about 30 stations of Weigh-in-Motion (WiM) in Ukraine and about 70 more such systems are to be put into operation by the end of this year.
This was announced at the forum “Ukraine 30. Safe community” by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Mustafa Nayem, reports ProAgro Group with reference to elevatorist.com.
“There is a problem with fixed stations, where our inspectors stand. I hope that by the end of next year, these stationary stations will be equipped with technology that will transmit data automatically to Kyiv,” Nayem said.
According to him, after the launch of the WiM system, the number of cars following with overload has decreased threefold. However, attempts to bypass weighing systems, as well as to bribe for a pass without weighing continue.
Nayem said that by the end of next year 150 WiM systems will be launched. This will be enough to cover the main directions.
