Works on the reconstruction of the checkpoint “Krasnoilsk – Vicovu de Sus” on the border of Ukraine and Romania, as well as the arrangement of auxiliary infrastructure, are at the final stage. This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the post of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine on Facebook.
“The project of reconstruction of the checkpoint “Krasnoilsk – Vicovu de Sus” on the border with Romania has been actually frozen since 2016. Today the need for it is critical, because in the conditions of war Ukraine and Europe need new logistics routes for trade. In the coming weeks, we plan to allow the passage of cars up to 7.5 tons and empty trucks at the checkpoint. At the same time, we are working with Romanian colleagues to accelerate the development of infrastructure on the part of Romania,” commented Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.
It is noted that this checkpoint is intended for the movement of trucks. Already this month, it will allow the passage of vehicles weighing up to 7.5 tons and empty trucks, and after the completion of the work on the Romanian side, the checkpoint will operate as a full-fledged cargo crossing.
It is expected that the launch of this checkpoint will significantly unload the “Porubne – Siret” checkpoint. Currently, the construction readiness of the checkpoint is 95%.
