Exports through the “grain corridor” continue to decline

During the 12th week of the “grain corridor” operation, from October 17 to 23, 2022, 787.9 thsd tonnes of agro-industrial products were exported through the seaports of Odesa region, which is 8% less than the shipment through this channel a week ago.

At the same time, the number of ships that were loaded during this week was 32, which is 11 units less than the previous week, according to ProAgro Group, citing information from the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club.

“This is the second week in a row that both the volume of shipped products and the number of loaded vessels are falling. The reason for this dynamics is a long queue of vessels waiting for inspection both at the entrance and exit to Ukrainian ports. Currently, their number exceeds 100 units,” – the UCAB noted.

The largest export volumes during the 12th week of work were corn (35% of exports for this period), rapeseed (22%) and wheat (20%). Ukrainian products went to Europe (Spain, France, Italy), Asia (China, Turkey, Pakistan) and Africa (Libya, Yemen, Lebanon).

In total, since the beginning of the “grain corridor” from August 1 to October 23, 2022, it was possible to send 8.5 million tons of Ukrainian agro-industrial products to importing countries.
