Port “Olvia” handled 2.2 million tons of grain cargo

As of the morning of November 12, 2021 the total volume of cargo transshipment by port operators in the specialized sea port Olvia reached the mark of 4 million tons. During this period, 315 ship calls were recorded, reports ProAgro Group with reference to the message of the enterprise.

Grain cargo made up more than half of the cargo transshipped by the port since the beginning of the year – 2.19 million tons. The second position is taken by construction materials – 687.37 thousand tons, the third – ferrous metals, 403.63 thousand tons.

“Since the beginning of the year, we have had significant challenges, which were mainly related to the reduced grain harvest due to drought and delayed grain harvest in the 2020/21 marketing year, as well as high prices due to shortages caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this now we see a remarkable positive dynamics of cargo handling in our harbor,” – said the head of the port “Olvia” Andriy Egorov.

It is noted that on November 8, 2021 “Olvia” fulfilled the annual plan for cargo handling ahead of schedule, which was 3.9 million tons.
