Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to create new transit routes to expand export potential.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a joint briefing with Moldovan President Maia Sandu, ProAgro Group reported with reference to Economic Truth.
“We agreed with Madame President to create new transit routes, to expand our export potential. We will do this, in particular, by facilitating the crossing of the borders of our states,” he said.
Zelensky confirmed Ukraine’s readiness to help Moldova with the reconstruction of the railroad and start rebuilding the Berezine-Basarabeasca railroad section to strengthen the transport potential of both states.
Earlier, the Ukrainian and Moldovan ministries of infrastructure signed a corresponding memorandum of understanding. It provides for the restoration of railway traffic on this stretch of 22 km, the operation of which was terminated in 1999.
