Ukraine is working to increase the number of ship inspections

The Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine is working to increase the number of ship inspections within the framework of the Black Sea Grain Initiative. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Yuriy Vaskov, ProAgro Group reports.

“We are working to, firstly, increase the number of inspections to at least 25 per day. It is 25 inspections that are needed for the three ports to work stably. Secondly, to increase the number of inspections and add ports of Mykolaiv region to the “grain initiative”. And thirdly, to extend the terms for at least a year,” the Deputy Minister said.

According to him, currently, within the framework of the “grain initiative”, an average of 3.5 vessels entering the ports and three vessels leaving the ports pass through inspections per day since the beginning of November. This is three times less than the transshipment capacity of the three ports involved in the “grain initiative”, said Vaskov.

At the same time, he considers it possible to increase the number of inspections to 25 within a month.
