In connection with warnings issued by the State Hydrographic Service of the Maritime Administration of Ukraine on the basis of a letter from the Directorate of Navigation and Oceanography of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, certain areas of the Black and Azov Seas are blocked from 13 to 19 February 2022 inclusive for “military training activities”.
This is reported by “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the Administration of the Sea Ports of Ukraine.
These areas are blocking the recommended routes to the seaports of Ukraine.
At the same time the movement of vessels by the recommended ways to the seaports of Ukraine in the Sea of Azov will be blocked for the entire period of these activities.
As for the ports of the Black Sea basin, the movement of vessels in the Black Sea will only be possible with a deviation from the recommended ways, bypassing the areas of military firing, respectively – with restrictions on the draft of vessels.
In December 2021, under the pretext of military exercises, Russia blocked 70% of the Sea of Azov, arranging provocations against ships.
