Last month, the average daily load of grain cargo of JSC “Ukrzaliznytsia” reached 131.4 thousand tons. This is the highest figure in the last 10 years, reports ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the carrier.
“We managed to correct the situation with the preparation for the season of grain transportation in a short time, and now we are showing good results. I am sure that in partnership with the agrarians we will be able to transport this year’s record levels of grain, significantly increase export performance and improve the economic condition of Ukraine”, said Alexander Kamyshyn, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia.
Thus, in October 2021 grain transportation by rail increased by 8.1% as compared to October last year – up to 3.8 million tons. In total, since the beginning of 2021/22 MY (July-June), the railroad transported 12.9 million tons of grain cargo, which is 7.4% more than during the same period of the last marketing year.
