In December 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia transported 3.865 million tons of grain cargo, which is 15.8% more than in December 2020. This figure has become a record for the last 11 years, reports ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the company.
Thus, the previous December record was set in preepidemic 2019, when grain shipments amounted to 3.825 million tons. The December 2021 figure is higher by 1.1 percent.
“Railroad workers fulfill all tasks for transportation of one of the most important cargoes in foreign trade of Ukraine with other countries and constantly improve cargo work, which is confirmed by the “iron” statistics, which demonstrates the effect of coordinated actions,” – stressed the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia Alexander Kamishin.
In total, Ukrzaliznytsia has transported 33.666 mln tons of grain cargoes in 2021. Domestic transportation was 3.6 million tons, export – 29.26 million tons, import – 215.6 thousand tons, and transit – 589.9 thousand tons.
