As of beginning of 2017, rapeseeds commodity batches were almost fully “absorbed” by the market already. In the first half of 2017 the volume of oilseeds exports from Ukraine (according to the OilWorld) will be around 70-80 KMT, i.e. less than one-tenth of 886 KMT of exports during July-December 2016. Of this amount, approximately 50 KMT will be delivered to the EU.
In July-December 2016 Ukraine shipped 844 KMT of rapeseeds to the EU, which is a multi-year low for this export direction (20% lower than in 2015). Along with a reduction in Ukrainian rapeseeds supply in MY 2016/17 a reduction in oilseed export geography has also occurred. Thus, in July – December 2016 the EU exports share increased to 95%, while the shipments for some destinations (Pakistan, United Arab Emirates) have stopped.
