Central Plains Group is launching a potato starch plant in Lviv oblast. The producer announced this news on its Facebook page, reports ProAgro Group.
“We will soon launch our starch plant in Hlinyany. Now we are carrying out commissioning works, because it is a key stage for the safe operation”,- says the report.
The company notes that the raw material for the plant will only include specially grown technical potatoes for processing.
CPG Ukraine was founded in late 2019 by a group of investors from Scotland and Finland. The company harvested its first crop of potatoes last year. This year, about 1 thousand hectares were allocated for its cultivation.
In addition to the production of commercial and chip potatoes, the company intends to work closely with farmers, providing them with advisory support and high-quality planting material of premium varieties of technical potatoes.
Thus CPG Ukraine expects to create a sufficient raw material base for its own potato starch production.
