Agrotrade Group started the 2023 season with sowing of winter rape. It is planned to sow more than 15 thousand hectares with this crop, which is twice more than it was last year, “ProAgro Group” was informed by the agricultural holding.
Sowing of winter rape is taking place in Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions.
“By increasing the area of rapeseed, the company reduces the volume of wheat sowing. Now it is more economically feasible, because because of the problems with export, which occurred as a result of the war, wheat has become less profitable crop,” – explained the director of AgroTrade Group Alexander Ovsyanyk.
According to the agronomist, there are favorable weather conditions for sowing in all three regions now, there is enough moisture in the soil, so the holding hopes to get good sprouts. Also in Kharkiv region the company will arrange a rapeseed testing site, where at different plots agronomists will use different growing technologies.
Rapeseed sowing is planned to be finished by August 20.
