Since the beginning of 2022, specialists of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection have registered 7 cases of ASF in Ukraine, including 3 – in households, 2 – in wild populations, 2 – infected objects. In particular, three cases occurred in the Sumy region and one each in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and Kirovohrad regions, ProAgro Group reports with reference to the information of the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection.
“Despite the difficulties of wartime, in each case of confirmation of ASF, measures were taken in accordance with the current Instruction on the prevention and control of African swine fever in Ukraine, including quarantine restrictions in disadvantaged areas, removal and destruction of all susceptible animals and raw materials from them in foci of infection, zoning, control over the prevention of movement of controlled goods from disadvantaged areas, quarantine posts, measures in protection and surveillance zones, disinfection and deratization, monitoring in wild fauna and among domestic pigs, etc.”, – the State Service of Ukraine for Food Safety and Consumer Protection noted.
