Land reform took everything possible out of the shadows. Today the land market works transparently and without corruption. This was stated by the Minister of Agrarian Policy Nikolay Solskyy during a press conference on the first year of the land market in Ukraine, as ProAgro Group reports.
“The reform was carried out for the Ukrainians, and they appreciated it. Obviously, a person who owns land will always protect it better than a hired worker, and this can be clearly seen today,” he stressed.
The deputy minister Markiyan Dmitrasevich described the dynamics of the land market. For example, during the year of his work in Ukraine more than 105 thousand deals were made, including 88 thousand land sales with a total value of over 7 billion UAH. Because of the Russian aggression more than 50 thousand land sale and purchase transactions did not take place, and landowners lost 4,2 billion UAH.
“At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia, more than 102 thousand agreements were concluded, 245 thousand hectares of about 32.5 million hectares of agricultural land were alienated. Now there are more than 105 thousand such transactions. These are land sale and purchase, exchange, donation and life maintenance transactions”, – he explained.
