The 2022 harvesting season has been completed in Odesa region, ProAgro Group reports referring to the information provided by the Agricultural Department of Odesa Regional State Administration.
According to the operational information of district administrations, agricultural enterprises harvested more than 2.5 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.
“We harvested more than predicted. The north of Odesa region “burned”, but the last precipitation saved the harvest, so our total yield can be considered average. Looking back on martial law and drought, we harvested more than 50% of what we get in the best years. The struggle for a crop under martial law is not over yet – next week in the Odesa region there will start a new sowing campaign for the harvest of 2023,” – commented the director of the department Alla Stoyanova.
She noted that the harvest of 2022 has forever entered the history of our country as an example of courage. The Ukrainian army successfully defends its native land, and the agrarians of Odesa region are no less tenacious in their struggle for the harvest, current and future. Farmers say that Ukraine will definitely not be left without bread.
