According to preliminary data of the Main Department of Statistics in the Lviv oblast the agricultural production of the region in 2021 increased by 5.6%.
The main growth of 10.1% was recorded in the commercial segment, in the households the volume of production increased by only 1.2%, reports “ProAgro Group” with reference to the information of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Lviv Oblast State Administration.
“The increase in production in the commercial segment is one of the main signs of development of the agrarian sector in the region. Existing enterprises are increasing their production capacities, in addition, there is the development of private farms and their transformation into family farms. All this allows Lviv region to minimize the risks of deficit of main food products and preserve food safety”, – Director of the Agroindustrial Development Department of Lviv Oblast State Administration Tetiana Hetman said.
In 2021 the production of crop production in the region increased by 6% compared to the previous year, livestock production – by 4.6%. In the livestock segment the increase in production was due to the growth of meat production, in live weight of farm animals sold for slaughter, this figure increased by 10.4%.
