Corn threshing has begun in the Cherkasy region – the grain was harvested on 2% of the sown areas (370 thousand hectares), the yield of which is 67.3 c/ha.
This was reported by the press service of the Department of Agricultural Development of the Regional State Administration, “ProAgro Group” informs.
It is specified that corn occupies 30% of the total area in the structure of agricultural crops in the region. Also, the harvesting of buckwheat and millet in the region is nearing completion.
In general, according to operational data, in all categories of farms of the region, cereals and legumes were harvested on an area of 295 thousand hectares (45% of the plan), the gross harvest amounted to 1.4 million tons with an average yield of 47.9 c/ha (last year – 59.2 c/ha). In addition, sunflower in Cherkasy region was harvested on 21% of the area with an average yield of 24.8 c/ha (29 c/ha).
The sown area of sunflower is 247 thousand hectares, which is 20% of the total area in the structure of agricultural crops in the region. Soybeans were harvested on the area of 13.7 thousand hectares, or 12% of the plan (110 thousand hectares), 30.1 thousand tons were harvested with an average yield of 22 c/ha.
“35 thousand tons of sugar beet were harvested with an average yield of 436.3 c/ha (last year the figure was 449.4 c/ha). The sown area of this crop is 9.8 thousand hectares”, – the department added.
