Agricultural producers of all regions continue sowing winter grain crops for the harvest of 2023, according to ProAgro Group, citing information from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food.
As of October 3, 1.2 million hectares were sown with winter crops, or 26% of the forecast, in particular
- wheat was sown on 1.1 million hectares, or 27%;
- barley was sown on 96 thousand hectares, or 14%;
- rye sown on 35 thousand hectares, or 41%.
- Over the previous week, 516 thousand hectares of winter crops were sown.
Most of the winter grain crops were sown by farmers of Ternopil region – 32 thousand hectares, or 41% of the forecast.
Due to favorable weather conditions, agricultural producers in all regions of Ukraine have completed the sowing of winter rape, which was sown on 989 thousand hectares. Over the previous week, 28 thousand hectares of winter rape were sown.
