The rate of grain exports corresponds to the record harvest in Ukraine in 2021 and exceeds last year’s shipment figures. This was reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, as “ProAgro Group” reports.
So, for the first 2 weeks of February abroad there were shipped:
- wheat – 548 thousand tons;
- barley – 98 thousand tons;
- corn – 2.25 million tons.
“Now there are no obstacles for grain export from Ukraine, despite the alarming reports about the possible blockade of Ukrainian ports due to the military exercises of the Russian fleet near Ukraine. According to market operators, shipments are in normal mode, no downtime or postponement of shipments has been registered,” commented Minister Roman Leshchenko.
He added that today there is a slight decrease of export rates of grain crops. Therefore there are no risks of excessive export of wheat. The need for domestic consumption of grain is about 20 million tons, which makes it possible to export about 65 million tons of grain and leguminous crops.
