Ukraine’s imports of fresh or chilled potatoes in 2021 reached $ 42.25 million, which is 32.64% less than the year before, when imports were $ 62.72 million.
This is reported by the ProAgro Group, citing the UNN.
According to the State Customs Service, the top three exporters of potatoes to Ukraine in 2021 were Poland ($ 15.72 million), the Netherlands ($ 4.93 million) and Germany ($ 4.07 million). The year before last the leaders were Belarus, the Netherlands and Russia.
At the same time, last year Ukraine exported $4.01 million worth of potatoes, which is more than four times more than in 2020, when its sales abroad amounted to $0.87 million. Last year, Ukraine sold the most potatoes to Belarus ($3.2 million), Azerbaijan ($602.91 thousand) and Moldova ($282.4 thousand).
