In Ukraine as of February 1, 2022 compared to 2020, the number of cattle, pigs and sheep has decreased, while the number of poultry has risen.
This is evidenced by the data of the State Statistics Service, reports “ProAgro Group”.
So, the number of cattle on the reporting date amounted to 2.7 million heads, which is 6.5% less than on February 1, 2021. The total cow population also decreased by 6.6% and amounted to 1.55 million. However, their number in the industrial agricultural enterprises was increased by 0.2% – to 423.7 thousand heads.
At the beginning of this month, the number of pigs on farms of all categories declined by 3.4% to 5.56 million. At the same time, their number in private households was reduced by 7.5% – to 2.08 million, while in the industrial sector – down by 1% – to 3.6 million.
The number of sheep and goats on February 1, 2022 decreased by 3.3% to 1.08 million. At the same time, the number of poultry on the same date increased by 0.7% – to 193.9 million heads.
