Khmelnytsky oblast leads in grain yield

Agrarians of Khmelnytsky oblast completed the harvesting of early crops, the gross yield of which reached 1.9 million tons at an average yield of 60.1 c/ha, which is the highest level in Ukraine. ProAgro Group reports this with reference to AgroPortal.ua.

“The average yield of winter wheat equals 62.9 c/ha, spring wheat – 45.7 c/ha, winter barley – 51.7 c/ha, spring barley – 46.3 c/ha, pea – 32.6 c/ha, oats – 38.4 c/ha. Indicators of productivity of early grain crops is 20-25% higher than last year’s”- says the head of the development of agricultural sector and land relations of Khmelnytsky State Administration Oleg Omelyanyuk.

He adds that the region has already begun harvesting corn, which is threshed on 3% of the area. The average yield of the crop is 110 c/ha, which is 13 c/ha more than last year.

“In total, according to the results of harvesting works, the gross harvest of grain is expected in the range of 4.2 million tons, which is 0.2 million tons more than last year,” – adds the head of department.
