As of April 14, the estimated sowing area of main spring crops for the harvest of 2022 on the territory under the control of Ukraine is 14 013 thousand hectares, which is by 2 903.3 thousand hectares less than last year (16 916.3 thousand hectares). This is reported by ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the Ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food.
According to the current data of structural subdivisions of military administrations of Donetsk and Luhansk civil-military administrations, which perform the functions of agro-industrial development, 23 regions of Ukraine, except Luhansk region, almost all territory of which is affected by military operations, have sown spring crops.
Thus, all categories of farms sowed (planted):
- spring wheat – 146.4 thousand hectares;
- spring barley – 742,900 hectares; and
- spring rape – 14.1 thsd. ha; oats – 112 thsd. ha; spring barley – 742.9 thsd. ha;
- oats – 112 thousand hectares; spring barley – 742.9 thousand hectares;
- peas – 100.5 thsd. ha; buckwheat – 0.6 thsd. ha;
- buckwheat – 0.6 th. ha;
- millet – 2.8 th. ha;
- corn – 122.6 thsd. ha
- sugar beet – 110.3 thousand hectares; and
- sunflower – 433.7 thsd. ha; soybeans – 20.9 thsd. ha;
- soybeans – 20,900 hectares
- potatoes – 129,300 hectares.
Agricultural enterprises have completed the first feeding of winter crops with nitrogen mineral fertilizers and are taking care of crops.
